The tomb of the famous boy pharoah will be closed in October according to the Egyptian Antiquities Ministry.

The tomb is being closed so that important restoration work can be carried out, including putting in a new floor for the tomb. “King Tutankhamen’s mummy will be transferred to a secondary tomb chamber to protect it,” ministry official Mohamed Afifi said. At this point the expected duration of the work is uncertain as is the reopening date for the tomb.
