Heavy rains and winds have caused a large Beech tree to topple in Collooney Ireland. The tree exposed the body of a teenage boy which was partially tangled in the roots. The Christian burial appears to be from the early medieval period between AD 1000 and AD 1200. The skeleton also showed evidence of two stab wounds. “Whether he died in battle or was killed during a personal dispute, we will never know for sure,” archaeologist Marion Dowd said.
