Fragments of equestrian gear and Roman soldiers’ uniforms have been discovered in north-central Poland.

Bartosz Kontny of the University of Warsaw indicated that the objects may represent the presence of Roman soldiers, stationed outside of the Empire in Poland to protect the amber trade, another possible explanation is that Roman soldiers may have ventured into Poland from Germany while recruiting soldiers to assist the Vandals in their fight against the Suebi.
