Workers building a new church in Casal Bernocchi, Italy have discovered a Roman bathhouse.
The construction work which was almost immediately halted after it began almost a year ago led to the discovery of the archaeological remains of a Roman bathhouse. The Bathhouse would have been located next to the Via Ostiense a Roman highway between the port city of Ostia Antica and the city of Rome, leading to the suggestion that these baths may have functioned as a rest stop for travellers.
