3 May – Constantine III born Heraclius Novus Constantinus a future Byzantine Emperor was born on this day in 612 A.D.
Constantine was the eldest son of the Emperor Heraclius and his first wife Eudokia. Constantine was made co-emperor 22 January 613, and was betrothed to his cousin Gregoria not long after. Constantine and Gregoria were married in 629.
Constantine became the senior emperor after his father’s death in 641, he died of tuberculosis after only four months.
