21 April – is the traditional date for the founding of Rome by Romulus.
Romulus and Remus were the twin brothers that feature in Rome’s creation myth. The twins were abandoned after birth, were suckled by a she wolf and fed by a woodpecker until being discovered by a shepherd and his wife.
After choosing to found a new city the brothers argued about where that city should be set up Romulus arguing for the Palantine Hill and Remus arguing to the Aventine Hill, they chose to settle their dispute through the use of augury but then argued about the results leading to the death of Remus.
Before Romulus founded Rome.
