On this day 5 April 1964 the American General Douglas MacArthur died at the age of 84. MacArthur was Born On the 26th January 1880 in Little Rock Arkansas, He had a distinguished military career even before he was recalled to active duty in 1941 as the commander of the United States Army forces in the Far East, and subsequently being made the supreme commander of Allied forces in the south-west Pacific area.
