Archaeologists in Italy have discovered an ancient Roman mosaic in a Tuscan village. The mosaic was part of the floor of a luxury Roman villa that stood from the 1st  to the 6th century AD. The mosaic was built in two stages featuring two different designs. the first stage dates to the second half of the 4th century AD featuring geometric patterns surrounded by floral motifs the second dates to the 5th Century AD features octagonal shapes decorated with animals, flowers and a portrait.
