Two amateur divers have discovered the remains of a sunken merchant ship from approximately 1,600 years ago in the ancient port of Caesarea.

The divers reported the discovery to the Israel Antiquities Authority who investigated finding many artifacts including, iron anchors, a bronze lamp depicting Sol, a Luna figurine, fragments of other bronze statues and two metallic lumps made up of thousands of coins weighing about 20 kg.
