With almost 4,500 digitised manuscripts the Vatican project is progressing into a really useful resource for people interested in history.

The Vatican has more than 75,000 manuscripts yet to be digitised so even if you can’t find what you are looking for now it is always worth checking back as the project progresses. As it stands the collection holds a much wider variety of texts than you might imagine from Pre-Columbian Aztec manuscripts such as the Codex Borgianus to Japanese water colour paintings.
