Archaeologists in Northern Eastern Serbia excavating the Roman city of Viminacium have discovered two magical scrolls made of precious metal.

The Scrolls were found inside two lead amulets that had been buried alongside some skeletons about 2,000 years ago. Inside the amulets the researchers discovered lolly wrapper size scrolls rolled up, the scrolls had Greek letters written in Aramaic some of which could be translated to the names of known demons.

Researchers suggest that they were probably buried alongside victims of violent death, who it was believed would take longer to find rest and were therefore more likely to come across a demon that they could pass the spell to.
